PR–Evolution Dance Company: Da Vinci’s Smile
“Secrets and mysteries” – “Seiretsym dna sterces”
“Endless curiosity and returning disillusionment” – “Tnemnoisullisid gninruter dna ytisoiruc sseldne”
This performance is about the feelings and experiences of a genius, about hitherto unopened drawers of the personality of Leonardo da Vinci, who was unable to be “just” human.

Schedule
This is not the first time for choreographer Zsófia Nemes, leader of the dance department of the Csokonai National Theatre, to get inspired by the oeuvre of a painter genius, his mysterious pictures, the world of his colours, the manifold variety of his thoughts. This time, she discovered content characteristic of our days and yearning for dance and life in the venerable creations and mysterious life of Leonardo da Vinci, one of the greatest polymaths of the Renaissance.
Five hundred years ago, Da Vinci foretold things that threaten our existence today.
His mind contemplated the world with unparalleled and exemplary openness, curiosity and devotion. Few people know that he was the first to design a robot, which ultimately gave rise to today’s research into artificial intelligence, so much that a type of modern robots used in medicine was named after him.
These and more aspects of Da Vinci are revealed in this performance, as we must remember that dance, just like pictures, contains the unspeakable in a concentrated form, and only gives the answers to the questions it is asked.
National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
