The play is set in the near future, when the effects of globalisation have already completely transformed the world. Nature has been almost completely wiped out, plants have become a luxury item, and everything is covered in the drabness of cities. The social scene is the online world called Nether. It is where young people go to study, have fun and often work. In this dark utopia, there is an increasing tendency to 'shadow', to leave the physical body, to move completely into the Nether, where everyone can choose the look they want, and the human beings behind the avatars are invisible. The arguments and counter-arguments during the interrogations are a sensitive question of modern society: how real is the online, virtual space where we all spend more and more time? Are the relationships established and maintained there real? Is it a crime to commit a crime in this world without consequences?
The Sanctuary is an exclusive world, perfected in every detail, where everyone is an anonymous avatar. The Nether detectives introduce a spy into the Sanctuary, Mr. Woodnut, who is followed through his controversial experiences and relationship with Iris, one of the little girls. Detective Morris's goal is to find the creator of the Sanctuary, and through him, the server running the Sanctuary, so that he can shut it down once and for all, and thus eliminate it. What is the crime? How far can fantasy go? What are the limits of fiction, the moral boundaries of art?
Jennifer Hailey's contemporary American playwright The Nether premiered in California in 2013 and was performed at the Royal Court in London the same year. A year earlier, the author was awarded the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.

Jurányi House
The Jurányi Production Community Incubator House has become a key venue in the capital's cultural life, a vibrant hub of the contemporary art scene.
Our aim in creating the Jurányi was to find a stable, shared home for the independent theatre and creative arts sector, providing the infrastructure necessary for its day-to-day operations. We wanted to create a cultural centre in the Buda area, a "contemporary art house" where theatre-loving young people could spend a few hours over a coffee or even a theatre performance, a creative children's activity or an acrobatic movement class, thus re-filling the abandoned educational institution with an active community life.
Jurányi is more than just a theatre in Buda, it is a creative and creative base where visitors can enjoy a varied artistic, community, and educational program, in addition to a regular repertoire of 300 productions a year. We are proud that the Jurányi House is now a graduation subject in some art schools.
