Because it would be so boring without me
In the Jurányi there is a room on the second floor with this written on the door: Mohácsi - Hermit. Every Tuesday and Thursday, this door opens a little before six. On Tuesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, the room is filled with people who are passionate and dedicated to drawing and painting after a long day at school or work.

In September 2022, I sat as a model for the first time in front of the students of the Jurány School of Drawing and Painting. I watched them motionlessly while Balázs Fischer and András Mohácsi corrected their work. Slowly I imagined I was watching a performance:
I was being measured, squinting and waving with strange movements I had never seen before. They were talking to each other, asking me questions. Music was playing in the background, sometimes choreographed movements, sometimes a dialogue that allowed me to get to know the characters better. I was captivated by this theatrical moment in which I was the protagonist and they were the protagonists.
In our performances, we invite the audience to try what it is like to be a model, to draw, or to give their opinion on the works. At the same time, we also have the opportunity to get to know a little bit about the viewer sitting next to us, or the one who is sitting in front of us and drawing.

Jurányi House
The Jurányi Production Community Incubator House has become a key venue in the capital's cultural life, a vibrant hub of the contemporary art scene.
Our aim in creating the Jurányi was to find a stable, shared home for the independent theatre and creative arts sector, providing the infrastructure necessary for its day-to-day operations. We wanted to create a cultural centre in the Buda area, a "contemporary art house" where theatre-loving young people could spend a few hours over a coffee or even a theatre performance, a creative children's activity or an acrobatic movement class, thus re-filling the abandoned educational institution with an active community life.
Jurányi is more than just a theatre in Buda, it is a creative and creative base where visitors can enjoy a varied artistic, community, and educational program, in addition to a regular repertoire of 300 productions a year. We are proud that the Jurányi House is now a graduation subject in some art schools.
