Diorama group: diorama with Hungarians
The Diorama group is booking a month. It takes back, unites and then redivides, dissolves and heals and above all, loves the Hungary where we all snarl at each other from behind enemy lines.

The large hall of the Trafó is transformed into a fictional Carpathian Basin, where the creators and the audience join in the performance and explore their relations to Hungary, national identity and belonging. Digging into the collective cultural memory, they try to find the smallest common national multiple where the heart beats.
The performance is about the Hungarianness of the creators and the audience. It speaks of what we don't usually think about. Either because it's evidence and intangible or because it makes us sick to our stomachs and we'd rather deny it. We are Hungarian and this statement has a (strange) taste in our mouths. This taste is explored by the Diorama group, together with the spectator activity, and if necessary salted and peppered.
The Diorama group is an interdisciplinary creative community, which was founded by Lili Raubinek in 2020, before the "world ended". The diorama depicts a real landscape, a scene, a historical event, in a reduced three-dimensionality. So does the creative team. It works with large-scale and incomprehensible concepts that need to be reduced to a human scale in order to become personal. The members of the group work on the axis of dance - performing arts - music - photography - visual arts - visuals. They have been through a covid-washed performance, a survivor residency in the Bükk, a snail pasta making in Otava and Budapest, and are now preparing their performance at Trafo as part of the Staféta programme.
