Discover the exhibition with a guided tour!
On the occasion of Budapest's 150th birthday, a special exhibition of more than 100 photographs of the Hungarian capital at the turn of the century, in its heyday, is on show in the Gallery, featuring contemporary photographs of the city by a German postcard company from the collection of the Deutsche Fotothek in Dresden. The material is complemented by photographs by Frigyes Schoch of Budapest, who captured the young metropolis in unique stereoscopic photographs.
During our guided tour, we will revisit an exciting period in the capital's history and, alongside the photographs of the period, we will also show the later fate of the places depicted, or even their present-day image.
The guided tours are available with the temporary exhibition ticket and the guided tour programme ticket (1500 HUF).

Hungarian National Gallery
The Hungarian National Gallery is the largest public collection documenting and presenting fine art in Hungary. The permanent exhibitions of the museum, located in the Buda Castle Palace complex, showcase the most important works of Hungarian art, including masterpieces by Master MS, Pál Szinyei Merse, Mihály Munkácsy, József Rippl-Rónai and Dóra Maurer.
