"For me, abstract means shelter from reality. I am inspired by the influences of our time. I am interested in the visceral existence of human life. The impression hits the canvas expressively as a gestural vortex, being rich in colors and tones. The power of strength and emotions dominates." (Rita Cserbik)
"During her visit to the US, she was deeply impressed by American Abstract Expressionism and Pollock's eruptive art, and on her trip to Paris she encountered the vibrant international influences of contemporary art. Early career fellowships allowed her to gain personal experience and led her into the world of design and fashion. For her, fine art is not necessarily an end in itself, but rather a gateway to different fields of visuality; its uniqueness lies in its revision of the expanded notion of art. The various modernist movements of the 20th century, from the Bauhaus School to the De Stijl group and the Futurists, affirmed that life and art are one and therefore cannot be reduced to the realm of the sign, which can only be interpreted and received by a few. Art can (and must) permeate everyday life, from our dress to our consumption habits to our enjoyment of art. That is why, in the case of Rita Cserbik, a motif or impression on the canvas does not stop at this point, but continues to wander into the various fields of visuality and pop culture, becoming a garment, an accessory, a fashion and designer product. However, her paintings understood in their own right, are also of full value, since they are exciting project works of the very currical gesture, action painting, which is enjoying a renewed heyday in contemporary art today, and which require a high degree of concentration and at the same time a great deal of freedom. The photos that capture him painting show the depth of her reflection and the intensity of her work(...)"
