The film tells the story of a charismatic twenty-something, Daniel, who finds God within the violent walls of a reform school. He wants to become a priest, but his criminal record makes it seem impossible. His good behaviour sends him to a far-off village to work in a sawmill, but he happens to be mistaken for a priest and is eager to jump into the role of local parish priest.

🙏The young preacher, however, begins to speak a different language and offers the village new perspectives to cope with the severe trauma that has divided the community. Soon the young preacher is confronted with admirers and enemies.

🙏Corpus Christi debuted at the Venice Film Festival's Venice Days section in September 2019 and has since enjoyed a dizzying triumph, sweeping 34 awards in four months before being nominated for an Academy Award in the Best International Film category.
