Paolo Genovese is the director of the most successful Italian comedy of recent years, Total Strangers. This time Genovese (Superheroes, The Place) has adapted his own novel for film. The inspiration for the story is one of the most successful Christmas movies of all time, Frank Capra's family play Life is Wonderful. Genovese has set the story in a contemporary setting, with Toni Servillo in the lead role. Servillo is one of the best-known and busiest Italian actors of our time, having shot to worldwide fame with The Great Beauty.
