Summer 1957. Formula 1 is spectacularly buoyant, but former driver Enzo Ferrari is going through a period of crisis. Bankruptcy is threatening the factory he and his wife Laura had set up from scratch ten years earlier. Their fierce marriage has also been marred by the recent death of their son Dino. Moreover, Ferrari is finding it difficult to acknowledge Lina's child Piero, born to Lardi. Meanwhile, his passion for racing - and winning - tests them all as they race the Mille Miglia across a thousand miles of Italy.
