- the question prompts some young people in their twenties to start researching their grandparents' - great-grandparents' - past. As the grandchildren travel through time and space to uncover facts of history they had not known before, specifically the history of the Germanic peoples of Hungary, the danger of silence becomes increasingly apparent: that fear breeds fear, hatred breeds hatred. The personal lives of young people are gradually being permeated by a past that begins with a search for identity and then becomes 'part of them'.
