The film tells the story of the extremely tense 19 days of the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Golda Meir, Israel's first and so far only female Prime Minister (Oscar-winning Helen Mirren), must face the fact that her country could be utterly destroyed unless she can reconcile with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (Liev Schreiber) and rally Israel's sceptical military leaders behind her. With millions of lives at stake, Meir must make decisions that could decide the fate of his nation.
