Damage - community theatre performance with twelve people who have lost their vocation and the Bird
"It's a shame I couldn't say what I wanted to say. What I should have. To the one whom

It's a pity I left it so long. That I always thought I couldn't do it anymore.

Yet it would be a pity to let it go now. No clinging together, no singing, no screaming and dancing,
To accept what has happened, who I am, who I have become.
Because who am I if I can't do what makes me alive? All my people I will no longer,
At least in high school...

In The Bird Experience, a project supported by the Creative Europe Programme, a contemporary dance company from five European countries explores the theme of loss in a collaborative but differently conceived way, involving various civil society groups and a large black bird.
In Hungary, Réka Szabó and her fellow artists worked with twelve committed civilian adults from different backgrounds in a closed drama group. These women had lost or were about to lose their vocation, which was part of their identity and the main driving force of their lives.
In this community performance with them and the Big Black Bird, we will attempt to initiate a dialogue about articulating loss, acknowledging our pain, living and expressing our feelings. Testimonies of strength, pain, courage, loneliness, struggle, shame and betrayal. In text, sound and movement.
The performance will also give us a glimpse into the performances of the other four countries, which take place at the same time as ours. The organisations involved in the project are NextDoor Project from Copenhagen (DK), The Symptoms / Szünet Ensemble from Budapest (HU), Northern Sustainable Futures from Moskosel (SE), Zita Dance company from Athens (GR) and Asociación Companiá Danza Vinculados from Granada (E).

While it is acceptable to experience grief in public in the case of a death, mourning one's vocation is often incomprehensible or even questionable to the outside world.
In addition to creating the lecture, we are addressing the issue in a number of ways, with the Eclipse Association as our professional partner.

Jurányi House
The Jurányi Production Community Incubator House has become a key venue in the capital's cultural life, a vibrant hub of the contemporary art scene.
Our aim in creating the Jurányi was to find a stable, shared home for the independent theatre and creative arts sector, providing the infrastructure necessary for its day-to-day operations. We wanted to create a cultural centre in the Buda area, a "contemporary art house" where theatre-loving young people could spend a few hours over a coffee or even a theatre performance, a creative children's activity or an acrobatic movement class, thus re-filling the abandoned educational institution with an active community life.
Jurányi is more than just a theatre in Buda, it is a creative and creative base where visitors can enjoy a varied artistic, community, and educational program, in addition to a regular repertoire of 300 productions a year. We are proud that the Jurányi House is now a graduation subject in some art schools.
