Founded in 1985 and rapidly becoming one of the leading companies in the international dance world, the Monte Carlo Ballet has presented Cinderella for 25 years. Choreographed to the music of Sergei Prokofiev by the world-renowned Jean-Christophe Maillot, winner of the Nijinsky Prize and the Lausanne Prize for Lifetime Achievement, it has been performed around the world for the last quarter of a century to unanimous acclaim.
The production explores the deeper layers of the tale that everyone knows, the psychological drivers of the characters' relationships and the metaphorical-symbolic meaning of the characters, without forcing the contours of the story - all done with the highest level of dance, movement artistry and visual impact imaginable.
Through the story of a young, simple and sincere girl, the production is, like the fairy tale, about wonder and true beauty. A beauty that needs no accessories, no fancy dress, not even the famous fairy slippers. Cinderella's bare feet become the symbolic object of the whole ballet: both a symbol of the young girl's poverty and exclusion and the part of her body without which dance cannot exist.
The performance is not recommended for children under 6.

Erkel Theatre
Az Erkel Színház, Népopera néven 1911. december 7-én nyitotta meg kapuit. A többször is átalakított épület 1951 és 2007, valamint 2013 óta a Magyar Állami Operaház második játszóhelyeként funkcionál. Megnyitása óta az ország legnagyobb nézőterével büszkélkedhet, jelenleg 1819 ülőhellyel várja a közönséget.
