Schedule
The interplay between professional and personal life, and the ways in which art brings people together and influences their lives, will be brought to the stage with the help of Uhrik Dóra’s husband, a dancer, her son, an actor, and her daughter, a visual artist. The contemporary dance pieces will be set to classical music montages, while songs performed by Iván Kamarás and poems written by Dóra Uhrik herself will also feature in the production. Anna Lovas’s paintings will play an important role in creating the atmosphere.
How did dance enter her life as a young child? How did she become a dancer and later a dance teacher while raising a family? How has she remained part of the Pécs Ballet for 65 years, progressing from founding member to company director?
What is her secret? What fuels the passion that keeps her going? Could dance be her eternal love?
The four seasons will serve as a framework for portraying her life and career. Featuring dancers from different generations, the performance will culminate in a duet by Dóra Uhrik and Pál Lovas.
National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
