Tér

Tér switches on the amplifier first. ‘Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent’ – a phrase springs to mind. The amplifier is already powered up, but the loudspeaker remains silent. “Who says that?” – he furrows his brow for a moment, though he knows this is philosophy, a matter of metaphysics, not of life itself. Different pieces of kit react differently to the current; one of the effect pedals laid out on the floor acknowledges the voltage with a click, whilst another begins to flash rhythmically with coloured LEDs. ‘Shall I just listen now?’ – he reaches for a pick. ‘No, I’m going to dive headfirst into transcendence. I’m going to wallow in metaphysics.’ Sounds ring out.

Treshiba 22

Treshiba 22 is a Budapest-based electronic/chiptune project: using an 8-bit soundscape, it creates danceable tracks that sound as though you’d popped a cassette of a game that never existed into your Super Nintendo back in the 90s.

As if that weren’t enough, visuals from actual retro games accompany the music performed by the helmet-wearing members of Samurai Pizza Cats.
