Schedule
The Luis Humberto Salgado Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador—founded in 2019 to honor the legacy of its namesake, the renowned 20th-century composer —is renowned in its home country not only for its musical and pedagogical excellence but also for its social responsibility, as it provides opportunities for young musicians from diverse backgrounds to make music together throughout the country. The orchestra regularly performs at Ecuador’s largest concert venues, sometimes even accompanied by renowned international artists. During the Budapest leg of their international tour, led by conductor Gustavo Moreno, they will give a concert on the Open-Air Stage of the Hungarian House of Music, celebrating the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ecuador and Hungary, thereby expressing, they hope, the fruitful coexistence of generations and cultures, as well as—last but not least—the significance of both Hungarian and Latin American musical cultures.
Argentine conductor Gustavo Moreno has earned international recognition for his artistic dedication and his efforts to foster dialogue between different cultures. Throughout his career, he has conducted numerous ensembles in countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and is a regular guest at prestigious music festivals around the world.
