Weird Ugly Fish (LT)

Weird Ugly Fish – the duo comprising Aistė Kalvelytė (drums) and Julius Čepukėnas (electronics) – play music that transcends genre boundaries, in which one can detect the influence of numerous styles, including free jazz, krautrock, punk rock, IDM and ambient. Their compositions are expansive, ever-changing musical processes that juxtapose improvisational elements with rigorously structured musical frameworks. The Lithuanian duo made their public debut in the summer of 2021. Since then, they have appeared at several festivals both at home and abroad, including Mama Jazz in Vilnius, Claws Of Saurtopia and the 2025 jazzahead! showcase programme. In October 2024, they released their second album, entitled *Cannot Disappear*.
