Gustafsson – Keravec – Otomo: Luft_Otomo (SE/FR/JP)

In the music of LUFT, the duo of Mats Gustafsson and Erwan Keravec, saxophone playing rooted in free jazz and noise meets the emerging tradition of the bagpipes. The two musicians experiment with microtonal clusters, pneumatic noises, and frenzied, oscillating sounds, opening the way to previously unknown creative energies. It seems, however, that they are capable of taking the uniqueness of this formation even further: at their invitation, their friend Otomo Yoshihide joins them, guitar and turntable in hand, to create a thoroughly unique and unusual trio under the name LUFT_OTOMO.
