If you’re already familiar with it from Instagram and TikTok, you’re going to love this! It’s where two worlds collide: rural peasant life and 1980s working-class Budapest. Two worlds from which we all draw inspiration—if not from our own lives, then from the memories of our parents and grandparents. Jajemilia brings back village life in Zala County in the ’80s in a way that will make you laugh while also melting your heart with nostalgia. Throughout the evening, we’ll summon the village’s greats—Dodi, Miki, Mrs. Putifár—and our Swedish relatives will be there, as well as the PiszkozsPesti branch, of course. “Prolik and Peasants” is about the people from whom we all come. It’s about our ancestors, who lived hard lives, and whose world seems both familiar and distant. It’s about them—and about us, too. Come and meet Mama, whose voice is familiar to everyone.
