Meet the Author: András Berecz | The Annual Rings of Bells
2026-08-29T13:00:00.000Z
A meet-the-public event with András Berecz, a singer, storyteller, collector of folk tales, folklore researcher and performing artist who has been honoured with the title of Artist of the Nation and is a recipient of the Kossuth Prize, at his exhibition *The Annual Rings of Bells*.
“Behind András Berecz’s photographic essay, currently on display at the Műcsarnok, which ‘brings to life’ Hungarian bells through images, lie the artist’s faith-based motivations and his indisputable knowledge of theology, ethnography and anthropology. It may come as a surprise to the wider public that his creativity extends to photography as well – his works now form part of contemporary photographic art.” György Szegő
