About the Show
Imagine if Monty Python had written a horror story. Absurd humour and terrifying moments collide in this theatrical production, infused with showbiz spectacle, where nothing is certain except death and illusion.
Two comedians whose reputations have faded are preparing for a major comeback in an unusual theatre. Unfortunately, the venue they have chosen for their hoped-for triumph is reportedly haunted. But is there any truth to the story of the actress whose ghost has supposedly been trapped in the building for more than a hundred years?
As opening night approaches, rehearsals take increasingly bizarre turns, and it gradually becomes impossible to tell what is part of the show and what is actually happening. Stage fright, celebrity egos, rivalry, glamour, success, alcohol and terror collide in this blood-soaked comedy set behind the scenes of the theatre.
An entertaining production that reveals just how thin the line between horror and comedy can be—because in both, things can descend into chaos in the blink of an eye.
Please note: Recommended for audiences aged 18 and over.
Thália Theatre
In the Thália Theatre, the focus is on light-hearted entertainment, in the spirit of the "Pest Broadway" of Nagymező Street. The Thália Winter Garden, inaugurated in 2019, is a little more serious, while the Arizona Studio is home to independent productions. In 2017, the capital reaffirmed its confidence in the management, with Gábor Kálomista applying for the post of managing director and Géza Bereményi as an advisor.
