Resonare Quintet | Borbély – Tímár – Horváth – Mohácsy – Gyulai

Mihály Borbély and Sára Tímár’s new concert programme is a unique blend of the rich soundscapes of jazz, world music and folk music. Mihály Borbély has arranged the songs – selected by the Junior Prima Award-winning singer – and adapted them for a quintet: alongside the wind instruments of the Kossuth and Liszt Ferenc Prize-winning artist, folk melodies and original compositions written by the pair in the spirit of these melodies are given new life, accompanied by cimbalom, double bass and percussion. Among the ensemble’s members are young talents from the Hungarian jazz scene, Áron Horváth (cimbalom) and Lőrinc Mohácsy (double bass), as well as Csaba Gyulai, a well-known percussionist on the world music scene. The convergence of three musical styles and three generations promises an exciting concert experience.
