Baltazar Montanaro és a HANG projekt (FR/HU)
EN
"HANG" is the musical creation of Compagnie Baltazar Montanaro, which blends Hungarian folk songs with improvisation, natural sounds, and electronic textures in a contemporary approach.
Contributors:
Baltazar Montanaro – vocals, violin, noise collages
Martin Mey – vocals, keyboards, arrangements
Damien Dulau – guitars, arrangements
Áron Porteleki – percussion
Nicolas Blondeau – sound
The artists of "HANG" explore folk ways of thinking through Hungarian and Transylvanian folk songs. They incorporate urban poetry and contemporary poems into the folk repertoire, creating a mirror play between three eras and complementary worlds.
"HANG" is a laboratory where a wide spectrum of artistic aesthetics meets: from free improvisation through song forms and minimalist noise music to orally transmitted music. The creators reinterpret traditional melodies in a contemporary and personal way, combining the organic sounds of violin and voice with electronic elements, other noise collages, and unique handcrafted instruments.

Schedule
The interplay of polyrhythms and the development of harmonies allow space for silence and improvisation. From this arise expansive songs in which emotion—beyond literal understanding of the words—stems from conveying universal melodies. The music of "HANG" is decidedly contemporary, rooted in the present with artistic ambitions that resonate with our contemporaries and invite a rethinking of their relationship to their own origins.
