Attila Dargay’s third highly successful animated film, *Szaffi*, is set during the final days of the Ottoman occupation. Jónás Botsinkay, a young nobleman raised among the Roma, and Szaffi (and her cat of the same name), a peasant girl raised by a witch, fall in love on an adventurous journey.
In typical Dargay fashion, this romantic story is filled with endearing animal characters and parodic, hilarious dialogue. The voice acting has since achieved cult status.
