LT, the New York cop (Harvey Keitel), is no different from the criminals he's supposed to be chasing. He is sliding lower and lower down the slope, he can no longer and does not want to live cleanly and soberly. Due to his poorly placed bets, he accumulates a lot of debt, which he is unable to repay to the bookmakers. He loses his good judgment from so many drugs and drinks, putting his family in danger. He bets a small fortune on the last game of the championship, but if the team does not win, no one can save the fallen hekus. The fifty thousand dollar reward could boost his financial situation, but the crown witness, a nun, refuses to help the investigation.
