What was it like to be a mother, woman, child almost a hundred years ago? And how many of these are still familiar today?
This time, we will explore the exhibition Rhythm of the Masses – Mária Kósa's art from the perspective of motherhood at the Kiscelli Museum – Capital Gallery. Mothers, women and children, care and work, women's roles and everyday moments are in focus.
This morning is for moms and dads with babies who would like to leave home and meet other moms – without having to worry about whether the baby is quiet enough for a museum.

Who is it for?
We primarily welcome babies from newborn age, in laps or carriers, and their parents.
The guided tour lasts approximately 45–50 minutes. If the baby gets hungry, falls asleep, wakes up, fidgets or cries, that's not a problem at all. You can stop at any time to feed, change diapers or step aside a bit – this morning it all comes naturally.
We also think about babies
In the exhibition space, we put down a foam carpet for the little ones, so those who no longer want to spend time on their lap can move a little more freely.
The museum also has a changing room. And for breastfeeding or feeding, we provide a calm, separate office space for those who want to step aside a little.
Strollers can be dropped off on the ground floor of the museum, but if possible, we recommend the carrier. It is easier to get around both in the exhibition and on the road to the Kiscelli Museum.
How do you get to us?
The museum can also be reached by carrier from the Katinyi Martyrs' Park, walking up next to Óbuda University.
The museum can also be reached from the Szent Margit Hospital: after getting off tram 17, 19 or 41, the road leads up Kiscelli Street from Bécsi út. This is a shorter but much steeper walk, and crossing a bend in Kiscelli Street with a baby requires extra attention.
With a stroller, we recommend bus 165 from Kolosy tér, so you can avoid a steep climb. The stroller can be placed on the ground floor of the museum.
Parking is free in front of the museum for those arriving by car.
After the guided tour
The program does not have to end at the museum. In the park next to the museum, you can relax, talk or spend some more time together. The park also has a playground with a baby swing.
We would like this morning to be about being able to go out with a baby, recharge, meet art and be in the company of other mothers. Crying, feeding, changing diapers and the baby falling asleep during this program are not disturbing circumstances – but a natural part of life.
Kiscelli Museum
The Kiscelli Museum and its 15 hectares of parkland are located in the 3rd district of Budapest, between Óbuda and Remetehegy. The 18th century Baroque church and Trinitarian monastery, built by the Zichy family, was used as a barracks by the army in the 19th century. In 1910 it became the property of furniture manufacturer Miksa Schmidt, who later had it converted into a castle, hence the name Schmidt Castle. It is now home to the Budapest History Museum's collection of Modern Urban History and the Budapest City Gallery, the fine arts collection.
