Lakatos Ágnes – Special Zone

The music of Ágnes Lakatos’s new group, Special Zone, is characterized by exciting bass rhythms and melodic lines that explore new paths, built on harmonies that are modern yet refined, incorporating elements of classical music. All of this is transformed into a thoroughly unique musical world by Ágnes Lakatos’s colorful vocal and improvisational techniques, Máté Pozsár’s piano playing—drawn from free jazz—and Gábor Pusztai’s expressive percussion accompaniment. Their program relies predominantly on compositions by the band’s double bassist, Tibor Csuhaj-Barna, while the lyrics were written by Sugárka Enyedi.
