Weeknights @teufel // BIFF

2026-10-26T21:00:00.000Z  -  2026-10-30T22:45:00.000Z

One of the most important parts of the festival experience is when we get together after the screenings to talk and discuss the films. That’s why we’re hosting a party almost every night during BIFF.

In addition to the opening party and the closing Grand Party, every night from Monday through Friday at Teufel, we bring together the festival’s international guests, the Hungarian film industry, and the audience—as well as anyone who wants to extend the festival experience beyond the movie theater. Each night’s party is organized around a different theme, but all are infused with the central idea of this year’s Bloom section selection: the power of community and the possibilities it holds.

• Venue: Teufel (16 Német Street, Budapest, 1084)

Schedule

► Monday, Oct. 26, 10:00 p.m. / “My Notes from Mars” Screening

In Lili Horvát’s first international film as director, the lead roles are already played by such global stars as Mackenzie Davis and Rupert Friend. Following its premiere in Venice, the film will be shown to the BIFF audience in Hungary for the first time on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.

After the screening, we’ll celebrate the film’s creators and the international successes of Hungarian filmmakers together at Teufel, with a cocktail fitting the film’s theme and disco-spacey tunes by Ast/Ron, known from Moonbase Patel Disco.

► Tuesday, Oct. 27, 9:00 p.m. / Bloom Opening Party

The Bloom section is part of BIFF’s official competition program, which this year explores and celebrates the power and potential of community. Bloom will showcase the work of ten filmmakers making their first or second films, whom you’ll have the chance to meet not only during the post-screening Q&As but also in a more intimate setting at the Bloom section’s opening party.

In addition, we’ll be holding the Hungarian premiere of the film *Wicker*, starring Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, and Peter Dinklage, at the festival on this day. Numerous Hungarian film professionals contributed to the production of this film, which was shot in Hungary, and we look forward to celebrating with them after the screening.

► Oct. 28 (Wednesday), 7:30 p.m. / ELTE Szemle Party

ELTE Szemle is a student-run university film festival where our friends at ELTE have showcased their work to the public for the third time. On the evening of October 28, in collaboration with BIFF once again, we’ll also get to see how they make music and dance. Just like last year’s party, the DJ sets—each better than the last—will be spiced up with visuals compiled from ELTE short films:

low.C, a regular at MoHa parties, will be joining us; Ári and Friends will play the favorite tunes of the MoHa crowd (film students); and then we’ll dance to the eclectic set by the DJ duo Best Ablak until the end of the night.

► Thursday, Oct. 29, 9:00 p.m. / Parrhesia x Moulin Party

The concept of parrhesia runs through several programs at this year’s festival, drawing attention to the courage to speak one’s mind and tell the truth. In this spirit, we’re dedicating a special program to the situation in Georgia, political oppression, and the growing impossibility of filmmaking there. We’ll devote part of the evening to the spirit of parrhesia: members of the Georgian Supra party series will provide the music.

And speaking of resistance: on this day, we’ll also hold the Hungarian premiere of Oscar-winning Hungarian director László Nemes’s film *Moulin*, which premiered in Cannes and tells the story of one of the most famous figures of the French Resistance. After the screening, we’ll celebrate the film with the crew and continue the evening together at Teufel.

► May 30 (Friday), 9:00 p.m. / CCB Party

Cine-Collegium Budapest (CCB) is BIFF’s foundation supporting young filmmakers, which has already made the production of two feature films possible. Filming for Olivér Rudolf’s *My Mother Is a Monster* has already been completed, while Anna Korom’s project *Lady Sunshine* was launched this year. All of this is the result of an unprecedented professional collaboration, in which the Hungarian film community has demonstrated the power of standing together. On this evening, we celebrate this community, the supporters of CCB, the films soon to be released, and their crews.
