Yanchammer Trió

2026-09-05T18:00:00.000Z

The Yanchammer Trio is based on an unusual combination of instruments: the trio of piano, guitar and bass guitar rarely appears as a standalone jazz ensemble, yet it offers a particularly clear sound and a high degree of musical freedom. In the absence of drums, the shaping of rhythm, harmony and melody is constantly shared between the three instruments, meaning their roles are in a state of constant flux.

The band’s repertoire is based on compositions by the three musicians. The compositions are deliberately open in structure: they set the musical direction whilst leaving room for new forms, emphases and points of connection to emerge during the performance. The trio therefore does not play the same pieces night after night, but reinterprets its own material at every concert.

The three musicians represent different generations and musical backgrounds. János Nagy’s compositional approach, András Párniczky’s distinctive guitar playing and Milán Nagy’s fresh, creative bass playing do not take precedence over or take a back seat to one another, but come together as an equal, carefree delight. One of the defining features of the trio’s concerts is their chamber-music approach: even the slightest changes in dynamics, tempo shifts or improvisational ideas have an immediate effect on the entire ensemble’s performance. It is this constant interplay that gives the group its character.
