Highlander (1986)

Following the 2025 English-language music films and the Hungarian documentaries of spring 2026, international productions once again feature in the Rockfilmklub’s autumn 2026 programme. Alongside Leto/Summer (2018), which explores the Soviet underground rock scene of the 1980s and the rebellious world of Leningrad’s rock clubs, two films connected to the Freddie exhibition on view at the House of Hungarian Music until the end of 2026 will be screened: Flash Gordon (1980) and Highlander (1986). Queen composed the music for both films and also released it as a standalone album at the time. After the screenings, Béla Szilárd Jávorszky, a professional staff member of the Pop Culture Club Library, will talk with a film aesthete.
