What makes his music unique is that he uses classical instruments (primarily the piano and the violin) not only in the traditional way, but also creates unique textures by striking the bodies of the instruments, plucking the strings, or employing other experimental techniques. He combines these self-recorded layers (multi-tracking) and electronic manipulations into delicate, melodic, and atmospheric compositions.

In the studio, he creates nearly every sound himself. He makes full use of the piano’s interior, its mechanics, and the acoustic possibilities of the violin, even employing them as percussive elements.

In addition to his solo career, he is a permanent member of the acclaimed fusion/electronic live project Hidden Orchestra.

He frequently collaborates with fellow artists. His credits include the music for BAFTA-winning animations (Stems, Shackle) and award-winning short films. One of his special projects is *Notes on Water* (2025), a collaboration with his late father, the renowned landscape painter Norman Ackroyd.

Location

A38 Ship

Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
