Tiki Taka
An interactive percussion concert from Portugal

Schedule
Four musicians. Four ways to play with sounds. Tiki Taka is a dynamic, nonverbal musical performance from Portudália, the sister of the House of Music, in which rhythm, movement, and imagination connect and transform into a captivating celebration of creativity. Each performer embodies a personality while transforming everyday objects, instruments, and gestures into a playful musical language that audiences of all ages can enjoy. Ti, the Dream Tuner, weaves his melodies on the strings of his ukulele. He always strives to create harmony in unexpected situations, but soon he himself is swept away by the rhythm. Ki, the Master of the Cajon, provides the heartbeat of the performance. Under his hands, silence turns into rhythm, stillness into energy. Ta, the Dancer of Invisible Rhythms, gives body to the music. Through her movement, she makes sound visible and shapes every gesture into a part of the performance. Ka, the Playful Explorer, finds music in the most unexpected places: in a suitcase, in toys, in colorful tubes, in a fan, and in countless everyday objects. His playful inventions show that rhythm is hidden everywhere. Together they discover that the basis of music is connection. Connection between sound and movement, attention and improvisation, performers and audience. And this is where Tiki Taka truly comes to life and becomes a joyful playground where rhythm and imagination play together. An energetic, funny, and surprise-filled performance without dialogue, it invites the audience to join in as active participants. Through body percussion, catchy melodies, and shared games, the performers and the audience together become part of a shared experience. During the concert, everyone is encouraged to join in: to clap, sing, move, or simply laugh together. Tiki Taka is an uplifting musical journey that celebrates curiosity, creativity, and the simple joy of making music together, reminding us that rhythm is present everywhere—and lives within each of us.
