Catalan Jazz on Tour | Anggie Obin Quartet (CAT)

Born in Panama and currently living in New York, Anggie Obin began her studies on the classical flute before turning to jazz and earning a scholarship to Berklee. With her quartet, she primarily performs her own compositions—which leave room for improvisation—that blend the influences of Latin jazz, 1960s spiritual jazz, and contemporary avant-garde with a creative, sensitive approach. The young flutist has collaborated with renowned jazz musicians such as Danilo Pérez, Peter Erskine, and John Patitucci. His first single, “Ballot or the Bullet,” a tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement, was released in 2024, and his debut album, titled Luz, is expected to be released this year.
