DOME_LIVE: Juli Deák, Virág Réti

Juli Deák and Virág Réti are both part of a younger generation of musicians featured on the SZELEKTOR26 (By Telekom Electronic Beats) talent competition compilation album, and both received the House of Music’s Special Award. As a result, they will give an immersive concert with live visuals at the Sound Dome, the House of Music’s unique audiovisual space. Juli Deák plays the flute, using a circular breathing technique that is rare worldwide on her instrument. With quiet focus, she is shaping the contemporary music scene: a classically trained musician open to improvisation and to influences from jazz and folk music. Her concert will enter into dialogue with visuals by WURKIKONA. Virág Réti, also known as the founder and organizer of the Budapest experimental electronic event series Still Places, explores the boundaries between electronic, experimental and ambient worlds in her compositions. Her set will also be accompanied by live visuals, with Dániel Németh filling the Sound Dome’s dome-shaped screen. Before and after the concerts, and between the two performances, complimentary tea courtesy of Flying Bird Teahouse will make the evening even more welcoming in the foyer on the exhibition level.
