Karosi Júlia
Singing together is a wonderful thing—whether it’s in the car with friends on a trip to Lake Balaton, singing along to our favorite songs at a concert, or singing “Happy Birthday” to a family member. There is great magic in communal singing, which is why we have invited four wonderful singers to introduce us to the secrets of each genre. They will perform well-known and lesser-known songs to help us discover the musical language of each style, and to sing along with them under their guidance.

The series’ closing event will be a true celebration of song, featuring the worlds of blues and gospel—genres with roots shared by jazz—with the versatile singer and educator Júlia Karosi.
Júlia’s thoughts on the beauty of singing together: “Singing together is an uplifting, soul-stirring experience that purifies our emotions. Especially when we choose a repertoire from genres that stir such deep emotions, such as the blues and gospel. Simple melodies that are easy to learn by ear, and improvised parts and background vocals that respond to the vibrations of those present. This creates a unique and unrepeatable experience—the wonderful experience of singing together.”
