GREEK REBETIKO @ KOBUCIB-- (LIVE GREEK REBETIKO & DANCE)
In Kobuci, you can listen live to Greece's iconic underground urban music style, rebetiko. Music with a history of more than 100 years is still a living part of Greek cultural life – in cafes, taverns, festivals, concert halls and spontaneous musical occasions.
The diverse repertoire of rebetiko carries the urban and traditional music culture of Mediterranean and Anatolian Greece, while the musical memories of the Balkans, the Middle East and Western Europe are also echoed in it.

This evening, you can not only listen to the best songs of the rebetiko: by learning a few dance steps, you too can become part of the feeling of life that surrounds the rebetiko. Giorgos Antonopoulos, a Greek dancer living in Budapest, introduces you to the typical dances of rebetiko. In the partly bound, partly improvisational movements, everyone can find their own style and individuality – so the dance becomes a personal and community experience at the same time.
We are not bringing a dance hall, but a piece of Greek everyday life steeped in live music.
