Ajtai – Bujdosó – Czitrom – Gyárfás Free Improvisation Quartet

Péter Ajtai, János Bujdosó, Ádám Czitrom, and Attila Gyárfás are seasoned figures on the Hungarian alternative jazz, fusion, and experimental music scene, having made their mark in bands such as Qiyan, Pop Ivan, Mingus! Mingus! Mingus!, Európa Kiadó, and Jazzékiel. In 2023, at the invitation of Inverted Spectrum Records, they performed as a quartet for the first time at the album release party for *The Underground Jazz Scene in Budapest Today*, and although they had originally planned only a one-off collaboration, thanks to the success of their concert, they ultimately entered the avant-garde music scene as a permanent band. Their concerts move with unpredictable freedom between fusion music, punk jazz, noise music, psychedelic atmospheres, and other undefined territories. The four musicians, each with different backgrounds and affinities, constantly push the boundaries of their abilities, energy, and creativity: at times they linger on unexpectedly discovered musical commonalities, and at other times they break away from them to set out on a joint journey of discovery into the unknown.
