Join us for an unparalleled journey through time at the 87th BÁV ART Art Auction, where history, literature, and shimmering luxury converge. One of the most personal highlights of the event is the former gold Ulysse Nardin pocket watch of Milán Füst, a piece that stylishly echoes the maritime themes of the legendary writer’s oeuvre. Among the hundreds of lots, you will find icons of global art, including original woodblock prints by the Japanese master Hokusai, alongside giants of modern Hungarian painting such as József Rippl-Rónai, Sándor Ziffer, and Imre Bak.

Beyond the grand masterpieces, the collection features characterful pieces at accessible price points: a 19th-century English lady’s pocket pistol (HUF 85,000), a richly decorated Japanese Satsuma bowl (HUF 90,000), or an Art Nouveau table lamp (HUF 160,000) serve as the perfect entry point for aspiring collectors. These items offer not only investment value but also the power to create a unique atmosphere in any interior.

For connoisseurs and investors, the selection of rare timepieces is a true treat—featuring the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the NASA legend, the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. Jewelry lovers will be captivated by a monumental 12.5-carat diamond earring pair and a platinum bracelet evoking Hollywood glamour. The diversity of the auction is completed by Art Deco sculptures, Zsolnay vases, and curiosities such as a Baroque ginger jar or an antique Chinese cat lantern.

Those with a passion for classical applied arts can choose from elegant, historically-inspired pieces like a Rococo chinoiserie candlestick (HUF 180,000) or a Siena marble inkwell (HUF 140,000). Meanwhile, the works of István Cserepes and Gina Kovács bring the joy of collecting paintings within reach at mid-range prices.

The pre-auction exhibition is open from May 9–17 at the BÁV ART Auction House and Gallery (3 Szent István krt., 1055 Budapest). The auction itself will take place on May 19–20 in the Cupola Hall of the MOM Cultural Center.
