Its protagonist, Alceste, is devoted to honesty and despises social pretence, yet paradoxically finds himself in love with the witty, flirtatious, and gossip-loving Célimène.

The old house was once the village pub, and later the garden outbuilding became home to a small sewing workshop. Today, this remarkable place has been brought back to life through markets, summer theatre performances, and community events, giving new purpose to its rich history while preserving its unique atmosphere.
