On August 20, 2026, to celebrate the founding of the state and the feast day of King Saint Stephen, the National Library will hold an open house from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The all-day program includes building tours in Hungarian and English, special tours of the stacks, craft workshops, giant puzzles, and creative activities for all ages.
Take a stroll up to the Castle District, come to the Lion Courtyard, step through the National Library’s ornate gates, and become part of our stories and history!
