Every country's biggest design brief is the public realm itself: the sign systems, services and surfaces its citizens meet every day. Their quality is not a matter of taste — it builds trust, usability and international standing. Europe's leading cities have understood this: from Helsinki to Amsterdam, the design profession is a natural partner in public work.

POV Lokál's vision is to make that true in Hungary too. A professional platform where the Hungarian design scene, institutions and decision-makers move closer together — for well-prepared briefs, real professional collaboration and better quality. This evening is the first step: the Hungarian scene shows how it thinks through one concrete, shared project — the visual heritage of Hungarian transport, with the Museum of Transport. Alongside them, international guests bring their own practice: from cultural-urbanist projects to rethinking the EU's institutions and how citizens experience them.
The programme is part of POV Budapest, an international design conference. The event, aimed at those interested in design, technology and visual culture, returns for its third edition this year from 16–20 September at the National Dance Theatre. POV Lokál was created in collaboration with several leading Hungarian studios, with the aim of making Hungary’s visual communication and design community more visible, connected and represented both locally and internationally.
