Velem

Velem is a picturesque small village in Vas County, at the foot of the Kőszeg Mountains, close to the Austrian border. It is part of the Írottkő Nature Park and the Kőszeghegyalja area. Velem is especially known for its beautiful natural surroundings, clean air and subalpine climate. The area is a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities, with attractions such as Írottkő and the nearby St. Vitus (Szent Vid) Hill and Chapel. The town of Kőszeg is approximately 8 km away, while Szombathely is about 20 km from the village.
