THE HOUSE GOES OUT THE WINDOW|LUDWIG LOUNGE
This Saturday's programme will be entitled SMALL HUNGARIAN COCKOLOGY. The exhibition on Saturday will be linked to the exhibition entitled. The basic idea behind the selection is to present an almost everyday architectural phenomenon familiar to us all, the typical cubic house, the so-called Kádár Cube, as an architectural expression of modernisation. The exhibition uses a variety of artistic media and ever-changing installations to present the origins, transformation and impact of this type of house in the history of Hungarian visual culture.

16:00-17:00 | Exclusive guided tour by Iván Vitáris (Ivan & The Parazol)
Iván Vitáris is the singer and frontman of the Budapest rock band Ivan & The Parazol. He is a designer by training and has been interested in the relationship between art, design and history since a very young age. Researching and questioning the musical and cultural heritage of the Kádár era is an important part of his life, and although he did not live through it, his guided tours are an attempt to better understand the era and its impact on Hungary today.

17:00-18:00 | My House, My Desire | Lecture by András Szalai
The family house is - in principle - not a (large) bourgeois villa. Yet it is related to the villa. Just as the villa of the last century and the turn of the century is a kind of "small manor house" - perhaps a mansion or manor house - so the family house is a kind of "small villa", or at least wants to appear to be. In its gestures (massing, details, etc.), it tries to imitate its wealthier cousin and role model, like a bourgeoisie imitating a bourgeoisie. Or rather, he did, as long as he had something to imitate. When there were still bourgeois villas that followed a historicist, perhaps Swiss or English model, or took on an Art Nouveau, Hungarian form, and eventually became solidly modern. In the first third of our century, the family house (and the villa) was still only an architectural exercise, even though its style was already being debated by architects and other cultural experts.

18:00-19:00 | Kockaszöveg: reading the Kádár cube | Literary roundtable discussion chaired by László Valuska (Margo Festival)
The Kádár Cube is a distinctive architectural phenomenon of the 1960s and 1970s, and its cultural impact will be discussed with writers Réka Borda and Dénes Krusovszky at the Ludwig Lounge. How can space shape our cultural thinking? Does the Kádár cube have a literature in Hungary? Little Hungarian Cubeology. In connection with the exhibition "The Dwellings of Modernity in the Kádár Era", we will talk to our guests about the relationship between art and space, everyday objects and memory, narrative and building, representation and confrontation, and we will move away from one of the most influential architectural phenomena of the 20th century.

19:00-20:00 | Lőrinc Barabás Solo
Lőrinc Barabás, trumpeter and composer, is one of the leading figures of the improvisational music scene in Budapest, having released twelve albums with various bands and solo since 2007. He tours regularly in Europe and the United States. In his solo live act, he uses the trumpet, piano and synthesizer, loop station and sound modulators to perform his contemporary, partly improvisational compositions. Sometimes he creates a meditative atmosphere, other times he moves towards dance or electronica, but he never turns his back on jazz or more classical playing.

Ludwig Museum
The Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Müpa, is the first museum in Hungary to exclusively collect contemporary art. In addition to a permanent exhibition of the collection donated by the Ludwigs and a number of temporary exhibitions, the museum aims to raise awareness of the works and their creators through special publications and a variety of art education and art education programmes.
