What happens at the workshop?

We will immerse ourselves in a live improvisational theatre trend of short sketches that may entertain, make you think or even laugh. Learning the techniques of the genre is an experiential process, bringing you together with others and teaching you about life. The workshops draw from basic improv as well as experimenting with the subtleties of the genre with the participants.

What is Open Stage?

A new form with a 'behind the scene' feel. On the day the team for the evening's performance is revealed, players from the workshop participants take their places, and improvisational theatre actors who rarely/never meet each other take to the stage and improvise short scenes. As an element of the format, two improvisational theatre experts from separate companies will reflect on the scenes out loud during the evening, they will be called professional judges and we are excited to see who they will be for the next Shortlist.

At the end of the Open Stage, we'll find out which sketch was the most successful that night, based on the opinions of the experts, the audience and the players.
