Lia Orsolya Vető graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a degree in painting and art teaching, and then completed a Master's degree in art history at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. From 2018 she continued her studies at the Doctoral School of Art at the University of Pécs, where she successfully defended her doctoral thesis in 2024, entitled: The Memory of Movement - Additions to the Interpretation of Contemporary Gesture-Based Painting. His works have been shown in several group and solo exhibitions. In 2019, the Hegyvidék Gallery, in 2023 the VILTIN Gallery and the János Tornyai Museum in Hódmezővásárhely presented his works in solo exhibitions. Among his professional awards, he won the Gyula Rudnay Art Scholarship in 2022 and the Jenő Maticska Prize in 2023. In addition to private collections, his works can also be found in the contemporary collection of the National Bank of Hungary.
His art is pervaded by dynamism, using and manipulating colour, form and dimension with instinctive and reckless abandon. His large-scale gesture-based paintings are powerfully swirling with biomorphic, twisting, swirling and undulating forms, fluid shapes. His almost indecipherable layers reveal an organic-inspired visual world, sometimes evoking the visual effects of digitality. His work is characterised by the stylistic traits of maximalism and the freedom and fluidity of abstraction. Something happens in every square inch of his pictures, a multitude of juxtapositions of images.
