Schedule
The 19th century was a great period of the birth of national art and the development of the basic institutions of art - museums, academies, exhibitions, art prizes, art criticism, the art press. István Ferenczy, Pál Szinyei Merse, Miklós Izsó, Miklós Barabás and others are almost iconic figures of Hungarian national art, and works such as Pásztorlányka, Majális, Mourning Shepherd, or The Romanian Family Going to the Fair are examples of the common Hungarian pictorial memory known to all.
