About the exhibition:
The competition for OZONE's first exhibition was won by MOME animation students Bori Fendrik and Hanna Skultéty for their project entitled Sculpture Park, which uses recycled materials to commemorate species that play an important role in the ecology of the Earth.
"In our Sculpture Park project, we follow the cultural traditions of the ancient times and pay tribute to those we respect and consider important, and we want to preserve their memory for posterity. In addition to - or instead of - the generals who won battles and the emperors who conquered peoples, we are erecting statues of other important but often forgotten figures of life on earth: animals, plants, and essential figures of nature." (Bori Fendrik and Hanna Skultéty)
Why OZONE? Because, although small, it is an extremely important part of the atmosphere. Although there are only three ozone molecules for every ten million molecules in our atmosphere, the ozone layer plays a vital role as a protective shield for our living world. Since the 1980s, an unprecedented international effort to protect the ozone layer and reduce the ozone hole has been underway.
