Schedule

Singing together is a common love language, a way to each other. Our aim is to support those who are interested, want to learn and sing, so that wherever the music is playing or a melody is being sung, as many of you as possible can join in - be it a dance rehearsal, dance party, folk pub, camp or the drive there, a sing-along at dawn or waking up the tent dwellers 🙂

As with dance rehearsals, we warm up briefly at the beginning of each session - only this time we warm up our vocal cords and other sound-making organs. Then we learn new songs and repeat 'old ones'.

We prepare more familiar dance hits to give us a common 'base' and add extra sections. You can try it out 'live' at the venue after 8pm in the dance house of the Comedians. And each time we will learn less common, tastier, more special tunes.

The 'teaching material' is selected from the Dance House Hits songbook. If you have the book, please bring it with you, if you don't, you can buy it for 5000 HUF on the spot. But it is also worth to look it up from your neighbour or learn it quickly by heart. 🙂

Participation fee:

Participation in the folklore group, learning songs and singing is free of charge. However, please honour the Folk Singing Group's host, the Spare Key, by having 1-1 drink during the event. Also, we kindly ask all participants to refrain from consuming any products brought in from outside.

Fekete Gabriella.

Gabi and Tititá's female leader Zsuzsi have been good friends since birth. Together they went to playschool, kindergarten and school; together they took their first folk dance steps many years ago and started learning to play the violin and sing. A lot has happened since then, in space and time, but now they are intertwined again under the auspices of the Titita Dance Workshop founded by Zsuzsi and Jocó.

Gabi currently lives in Budapest and 'civilly' manages an IT startup. Since her childhood she has been actively involved in learning and cultivating Hungarian folk music and folk dance. In recent years, she has been involved not only in her own further education, but also in its promotion and transmission. In addition to teaching adults and children, organising dance-halls, she sings with bands on occasions and is expanding her own edited songbook 'Dance-hall hits'. She has been doing all this for the past seven years in London, in the Hungarian institutions of the diaspora living abroad, and returning home with fresh energy, six months ago, back home again.

We welcome you to the Tititá song circle!
