The protagonist of the well-known story is a secret mouse agent, Grabowsky, who is sent to Hell to bring back the secret plans for a device that could save the mouse civilisation from the all-powerful, evil cat syndicate.
One of the best Hungarian animated films of all time, 1986's The Cat Catcher! The film, directed by Béla Ternovszky and written by József Nepp, is a fun film for all ages, perfectly combining the best traditions of adventure, gangster and spy films, and with its inimitable humour it also parodies these genres in a hilarious way.
The most popular Hungarian actors have lent their voices to this masterpiece: László Sinkó, Miklós Benedek, Péter Haumann, Gyula Bodrogi, István Mikó and the rest of the cast have given the audience countless dialogues that have become a catchphrase. The film, made with traditional animation techniques at Pannónia Film Studio, has lost none of its freshness since its creation, its popularity is still undiminished, and several of the songs in it have become hits.
The animated classic is being brought back to the screen with digitally restored images and sound, in collaboration with the Hungarian National Film Archive.
Directed by Béla Ternovszky

Town hall park
Few things symbolise the identity of a municipality better than its town hall. It's no coincidence that almost every era has seen the redevelopment of Budapest's City Hall, with architects dreaming up new wings, a tower block that would transform the cityscape, or even a multi-storey underground car park - all in the spirit of the times.
