Sven Nordqvist's Pettson and Findus stories are popular with preschoolers and schoolchildren and their parents all over the world. The protagonists are Pettson, a lonely village handyman, and his spoon-fed cat Findusz. Like all children, Findus asks a thousand questions and if he doesn't like something, he goes out into the world. And Pettson, like all grown-ups, makes rules, sometimes loses his temper, but loves his rambunctious cat more than anything. The performance space, with its warm colours and quirky furniture, evokes both an ideal children's room and a handyman's workshop: countless nooks, drawers and corners to facilitate play. The simultaneous presentation of the children's and the adult's perspective is also an opportunity for the audience, parents and children to get to know themselves and each other.

Budapest Puppet Theatre dates back more than 70 years, and generations have grown up with its performances. We have had great eras, emblematic performances, and have been able to respond to the changes and cultural influences that have surrounded us. We are the only established theatre in Budapest that specialized in the genre of puppetry.
